Cesium iodide can also react with mercuric nit rate to obtain cesium nit rate and mer curic iodide: 2CsI+Hg2 (NO3) 2=2CsNO3+Hg2I2 ↓Avoid contact with oxides, moisture/moisture. Soluble in water and ethylene. The solubility in 100g of water is 44g (0 ºC) and 160g (61 ºC). Reacting with iodine can generate stable cesium triiodide CsI3. Under the influence of oxidants, iodine can be released.
